Michael Kowalski, D.D.S., J.D. Attorney at Law
Michael Kowalski is a practicing attorney with the Law Office of Michael Kowalski in Pleasanton, California representing health care professionals, individuals and a wide variety of businesses for over 25 years in business law as well as estate planning. Dr. Kowalski was a senior trial attorney in the California healthcare defense firm of Bradley, Curley, Barrabee & Kowalski, P.C. As a trial attorney, he has defended health care providers primarily in the areas of professional liability and administrative licensing board actions.
After graduating from high school at the age of 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served as a medic, obtaining the rank of sergeant, where he developed his interest in dentistry. Upon completion of his active duty service he enrolled at San Francisco State University utilizing his G.I. Bill educational benefits. Dr. Kowalski earned a B.A. in Psychology with a Minor in Chemistry. He then obtained his D.D.S. and Bachelor of Science in Dental Materials degrees from the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry and practiced dentistry for several years. While in private dental practice, he was a Trainer with the East Bay AIDS Education & Training Center in Alameda County, where he taught continuing education programs to dentists and dental hygienists regarding HIV disease awareness and infection control techniques and for which he received a Resolution of Commendation from the Alameda County Board of Supervisors. Dr. Kowalski obtained his J.D. degree from Santa Clara University School of Law. He has lectured and authored numerous peer reviewed professional journal articles and textbook chapters in the areas of business law, contracts, risk management, professional liability and dental licensing issues. Dr. Kowalski is a Life Member of the American Dental Association and a member of the California Dental Association and Southern Alameda County Dental Society.
Dr. Kowalski is married to a pharmacist, Sophia, and they have two sons who are both studying engineering, one at UCLA and the other at UC Davis.
